About This Blog

This blog attempts to chronicle my interest and growing visibility in the shaman's way. As a child I was very open to spirit worlds, and this quality was fostered and nurtured by my parents, my mother especially. In my twenties I found myself immersed in the study and practice of Polarity Therapy, a holistic system of bodywork, counseling, yoga, and nutrition developed by Dr. Randolph Stone. I began my Polarity Practice in 2002, and it is from this point that shamanic doors began to open and I began to journey with my clients. In 2009 a radical series of life events and unexpected doors began to fly open in fast succession. The most deeply touching is that of the whirling dervish, where I was trained and initiated in a five month intensive process. Following the blazing path opened to me, I now work with daily practices combining many forms of bodywork, meditation, yoga, and ecstatic dance. I remain true to the beating heart of Ayahuasca on a personal level, and to the community of the Shuar from which she came to me. My doctorate on spiritual and artistic practice will be completed in 2014. Please share in my personal journey, it is ever growing and ever changing. As we each awaken and New Earth is being co-created, every one of your comments are most welcome. In Eternal Peace~ Hannah Skywalker Dancing Heart

Food like Eyeballs

Wow getting halfway around the world and into the rainforest with two children is something else!  This is our third night of travel and…we are still not there yet.  We were bustled and shuttled and shuffled through over 24 hours of inflight and airport time, and when we finally landed in Quito Mathias went on strike.  He literally sat down on the floor in immigration and refused to move, if I tried to speak to him he would lash out yelling and kicking, and then would close his eyes and rest his hands on his knees, falling into a sleep like state, looking like a little monk.  We caused quite a scene, and they put us into the priority line :)  Needles to say, I opted out of the night bus and we stayed in a very very sweet hostel, the walls bright blue and orange, the windows wide open to the fresh air…

This morning we breakfasted on fresh papaya, guava, bananas, and pineapple.  I  had a guava tree in my front yard as a child, and I was in heaven finally eating this fruit, so fresh, once again.  Aurora however, was disgusted!  Apparently the guava was like eating eyeballs and the papaya smells like a butt….she made due with the prepackaged granola bars we had left in our carry on bags.  We spent the morning finding a bank that was open, buying adaptors and sim cards, and wandering around looking lost.  Finally we made it to the bus station and hoped aboard for the first 8 hour leg across Ecuador.

Tonight we are in a less sweet hostel, it's all square and modern and plain, but the windows are once again wide open….the stars on our journey were super super bright, the Andes mountains rose tranquil and green, jutting into banks of rolling clouds, and fields of corn and cattle blended with the rhythm of the wheels.  Tomorrow, another 8 hour bus journey, a taxi, and a nice solid hike into the village.  If we make it for the 8am bus, then we can avoid the taxi and our friends will pick us up, so I have asked my body to wake up!

I am happy to blog just now, because by tomorrow afternoon all I am wanting is to just be and be and be and be, resting in the freshness of the air and water and the marvellous silliness of the Ecuadorian people.  The coincidences along the journey are fabulous, having walked into an old dream while searching for a sim card and sleeping below a print of the Mona Lisa tonight.  Every step, I am reminded that we are exactly where are meant to be.  In loving harmony~
